**The National FFA recently hosted its third Next Gen Conference of the year, bringing 72 FFA members from 23 states to Kansas City for a closer look at careers in animal agriculture.

The conference brought together high school students for career exploration sessions, industry roundtables, hands-on activities, and tours.

The National FFA conferences are designed to help students picture themselves working in agriculture while connecting them with industry professionals and career opportunities.

**Red meat in storage rose as pork supplies surged, according to USDA’s monthly Cold Storage report.

Meat in freezers on Aug. 31 rose 8% from the same date last year, up 1% month over month.

Beef supplies increased 5% annually, and 2% monthly as boneless cuts rose 6% year over year and 3% monthly.

Pork inventories jumped 12% from the end of August 2025 but were down 1% on a monthly basis.

**President Trump and China's President Xi Jinping agreed to a two-month extension of their tariff truce and announced next steps for their Board of Trade at last week’s summit in Washington, D.C.

After Trump and Xi met in South Korea, last October, the U.S. and China agreed to pause their escalating tariff battle until Nov. 10, of this year.

They’ve now extended that truce through Jan. 10th, including a suspension of shipping fees.
