Agriculture and rural issues played a role in campaigns across the country, with concerns about higher fuel and fertilizer costs, trade disruptions, and food assistance programs.

The shift raises questions about how the new ag committees look and how they approach a new farm bill.

**A new RealClearInvestigations report raises questions about the funding behind a multimillion-dollar campaign opposing the Save Our Bacon provision in the farm bill.

The proposal would address California’s Prop 12, which sets animal housing standards affecting pork producers nationwide.
