**Ag Secretary Brooke Rollins and the State of Georgia have finalized a Cooperative Interstate Shipment agreement, an opportunity for state-inspected meat processors to ship their products across state lines.
Under the agreement, Georgia may inspect meat products produced in participating establishments for shipment throughout the U.S.
Rollins says this agreement gives Georgia’s family-owned meat processors the ability to access the same domestic marketplace as everyone else.
**A Republican-backed ag labor bill is drawing mixed reactions as lawmakers debate changes to the H-2A farmworker program.
The most controversial provision in the Securing
Agriculture's Workforce Act would allow certain undocumented ag workers already employed on U.S. farms to apply for temporary legal status.
Newsweek reports supporters say the proposal would move existing workers into a legal workforce without a pathway to citizenship, while critics argue it amounts to amnesty.
**U.S. ethanol production rebounded sharply last week, while exports nearly doubled, according to data from the Renewable Fuels Association.
For the week ending July 17, ethanol production climbed 5.2%, up 1.5% from the same week a year ago.
Ethanol STOCKS edged 0.4% higher.
Gasoline demand strengthened 1.2% from the previous week, though slightly below year-ago levels.
