**Seven winners of the 2026 National FFA Agricultural Proficiency Awards were named last week at the 99th National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis.

For Agricultural Sales–Entrepreneurship, Tatum Lancaster of the Tillamook, Oregon FFA Chapter started Western Grace Floral Co. in 2024, making homecoming corsages and boutonnieres.

Lancaster expanded the business to include special events and weddings, as well as paid floral design classes that she teaches.

**Trade negotiations between the U.S. and Mexico have stalled over steel and aluminum tariffs, with major progress now potentially delayed until after the midterm elections.

One key sticking point involves duties on products made from steel and aluminum, which Mexican officials say cover a substantial part of their economy.

The impasse puts off hopes for a near-term agreement, leaving businesses on both sides facing continued uncertainty over metals trade and broader economics.

**States are being urged to review wolf management policies and strengthen engagement with livestock producers following President Trump’s Executive Order, “Supporting America’s Ranchers.”

Ag Secretary Brooke Rollins wants state agencies to work closely with ranchers, increase awareness of predation reporting, and coordinate with USDA on livestock protection efforts.

She says for too long, America’s ranchers have dealt with wolves killing their livestock, livelihoods, and family operations they’ve spent generations building.
