From the Western Ag Network, I’m Bob Larson with your Agribusiness Update.**More than 500 international buyers from over 50 countries were in Seattle last week for Export Exchange 2026, looking to build business connections with nearly 300 U.S. suppliers and service providers.
The event focused on export opportunities for corn, sorghum, barley, distiller’s grains, and other agricultural products.
The event is co-sponsored by the U.S. Grains and BioProducts Council, Growth Energy, and the Renewable Fuels Association.
**The USDA is investing $86.6 million through its Specialty Crop Block Grant Program to support producers of fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, and nursery crops across 56 states and territories.
USDA’s Ag Marketing Service is administering the money to support just over 600 projects.
The focus is on improving the competitiveness of specialty crops through research, marketing, food safety initiatives, pest and disease management, seed development, and consumer
education.
**Chinese trading firms purchased another 10 to 13 cargoes of U.S. soybeans, signaling renewed demand from China.
Reuters reports the latest purchases are scheduled for shipment between December and March.
Combined with 8 to 10 cargoes booked last Tuesday, the purchases total an estimated 1.2 to 1.5 million metric tons.
This follows weeks of limited Chinese activity and comes after President Trump met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in September.
