Colorado Proud February Recipe Features Colorado Honey

Did you know that there are 27,000 bee colonies in Colorado producing 1 million pounds of honey every year? Well this month, the Colorado Proud recipe showcases Colorado honey. Colorado Department of Ag's Marketing Specialist Wendy White shares more details

White: "We are really excited as February is a super busy month — we've got the big game is coming up and of course Valentine's Day. So we are featuring that sweet and special honey in that Mile High Honey Brined and Basted Pork Spareribs. So whether you are planning a party for a football game or need something sweet for your special romantic dinner this is a great recipe for either of those."

White adds that now there is a Colorado wine that is being paired with each month's featured recipe

White: "Doug Taske with our Colorado Wine Industry Development Board is recommending White Water Hills Sweetheart Red to go along with the rib recipe. So be sure to check out our wines in addition to the recipes. In addition to the recipe of the month — there're couple of big events coming up in February. On February 17th is the CO Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association Annual Conference and then on February 18th is the Governor's Forum on Colorado Agriculture. So February is definitely a busy month."
