June Agricultural survey

During the next few weeks, Colorado Producers will be answering surveys about what they planted for the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service.

NASS Mountain Regional Director Bill Meyer tells Colorado AG Today the June Agricultural survey is going out to nearly 6,000 producers across the Mountain Region states.

Meyer: “This is a survey where we go to producers to see what was actually planted and to find out how much grain they have on hand. In March we went to a bunch of producers to see what they intended to plant this spring. This survey is when we go back to what was actually planted. Commodity prices have come up since our March Intention Survey so it will be interesting to see if those intentions come to fruition or if there will be some changes. I certainly do encourage people to help with this survey as it is used extensively.”

The results of the survey will be released on June 30th. They can be found at NASS.USDA.GOV.

Meyera says producers can use the secure website to respond to the survey or they can fill out a hard copy and mail it in, or just wait for a call from one of the NASS enumerators.
