Deadline for EQIP

Deadline for EQIP

Washington Ag Today November 8, 2011 Agricultural producers have until December 2, 2011 to apply for financial and technical assistance through Washington’s most popular conservation program, the Environmental Quality Incentives Program or EQIP. USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service made that announcement Monday.

The December 2nd signup deadline is for Washington’s general EQIP funding. According to the NRCS, there will be additional ranking deadlines later in the year for some of the EQIP special initiatives such as funding specifically for Organic Producers, funding for Conservation Activity Plans and possibly others.

The Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) is a voluntary, technical and financial assistance program. In most instances, producers who participate in the program pay for roughly half of the costs of the conservation measures or practices.

Now the Stockland Livestock Report.

This is Jack McQuinness here at Stockland in Davenport. Coming off a big weekend and Monday’s sale. Selling 12-hundred head of cows here on Saturday. Top on the bred heifers 1550. Top on the bred cows 1650. Lots of cows. Three and four year-old cows trading in the 1350 to 1450 range with the short term cows in the 8-900 dollar range. A good selection of feeder cattle here Monday. Fully steady on the heavier weight cattle and steady to maybe a buck or two lower on some of these lighter weight calves. Remember we sell cattle every Monday. We always feature feeder and stocker cattle at one o’clock. Stockland in Davenport.

Thanks Jack.
