New Favorite Wine

Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran and as many of you know, my new favorite wine is usually the wine that is in my glass at the time. I just don’t waste my time drinking wines that I do not like. As it is summer, I have been drinking a lot of white wine and I have found a wine that is working out just great on these hot summer evenings.

This summer I have been drinking quite a bit of Washington Viognier and I am finding it to be refreshing alone as a cocktail wine or with food. It has a wide range of fresh clean flavors that are more satisfying to me than Chardonnay. I have found them to vary in styles and although different they all seem to work with many of the summer dishes that we all enjoy most. Recently I was invited to a wine tasting at Bookwalter winery in Richland Washington and I was reminded how much I especially enjoy a version of Viognier made by Bookwalter winery. They add Chardonnay to the Viognier and it is delightful. This is a combination I am seeing more of as the variety is becoming more popular. I recommend you take some time to search out a few of these truly lovely wines being made in the state of Washington. Remember to send your wine questions to Linda at vine to wine dot net and thank you for joining me on today’s Vine to Wine.
