Food & Wine

Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran and today is food and wine pairing day. Today we address the last minute dinner party and those pre-made or nearly prepared foods in the grocery store that can help you put on a great dinner party with less stress and a minimum amount of effort. And of course the wines that go with it.

For me grilling is the key to having a stress free dinner party. And if I can get most, or all of the meal, to fit on the grill I am really happy. Here is a quick menu that uses some of the best aspects of pre-prepared foods from the grocery store. There are pork and turkey tenderloins that are marinated and wrapped up just waiting for you to take them home and put them on the grill. In the produce department, grab some of those little new potatoes and some zucchini or squash. All you need to have at home is olive oil and heavy-duty aluminum foil. Then zoom down the isle and pick up frozen fruit sorbet for dessert and as many bottles of Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc that you will need for the number of guests you are having. The directions on the package will advise you as to what temp and how long to cook your tenderloin so you can plan the rest accordingly. Cut the potatoes in half, rub them with olive oil, salt and pepper and wrap them in foil. Cook them about 45 minutes on the grill.  Slice the veggies, do the olive oil thing, and grill them for just a few minutes ‘til tender. Have fun! And thank you for joining me on today’s Vine to Wine.
