Why Drink Wine?

Why Drink Wine?

Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran. Inevitably as I am going on about a wine that I am enjoying someone will ask me - Why drink wine? Wine has an amazing and long history; it is a beverage that has fascinated and even obsessed people throughout the world. It is civilized and respected in most all nations, and like any other art, the more you understand it the more you enjoy it. More and more people have come to realize that wine is a civilized beverage. In addition for several years now we've been hearing that in this fitness crazed society of ours a little bit of wine may actually be good for us. I'm sure that every wine lover has their own personal reasons. I enjoy what the wine tells me about itself what the vintage was like and how the people making it cared for it. For others it was the first time they realized the pleasure and relaxation derived from a nice glass of wine, or perhaps the way it makes any lunch or dinner special. And there's the added benefit of wine making food taste better. It has a way of making a plain ordinary dinner more exciting – more fun or more relaxed and romantic. To me sharing good wine and conversation with friends is unparalleled in life's memories. There are no wrong answers in wine. It is entirely up to you to decide where your preferences are. There are so many pleasant and life enhancing reasons to drink wine. And most of us drink wine because it enhances our lives, it relaxes and soothes us and gives us pleasures and memories to share. At least that is what I think. And thanks for joining us on today's Vine to Wine.
