From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson. If being greener in your efforts to produce high-quality potatoes and other tubers is important to you, Pro Farm Group has a new product you might be interested in.

Nevada Smith, head of Marketing at Pro Farm, says ARINO might be just the ticket you’re looking for …

SMITH … “For many years now we’ve been testing the product called ARINO. ARINO is a brand-new insecticide and nematicide for the potato industry, and roots and tuber crops, onions as well. We’re excited to share that it’s been registered in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho already, and pending a California registration. This product is a really great tool on wire worms, grubs, and all nematodes.”

So, what makes ARINO different from other products out there on the market …

SMITH … “So, this is not a small molecule chemical. This is a killed microbe, so it’s a biologically based product, naturally derived. And it performs as good as conventional standards. That’s what’s really unique to it.”

And, Smith says that’s not all ARINO brings to the table …

SMITH … “What else do you get with that? You get no MRL issues. PPE requirements are very minimal. You know, it gives you the best of both worlds, performance, yield and efficacy against the insect pests without having to have the harsh side effects and safety issues that a lot of chemicals have today.”
