From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson. The One Big Beautiful Bill is now law and many ag groups around the country appreciate what it brings to the table.
American Farm Bureau Federation President Zippy Duvall says the legislation delivers for America’s farmers and ranchers …
DUVALL … “Farmers and ranchers received a step towards certainty with the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The bill, advanced through a process known as reconciliation, delivers updates to farm programs and makes permanent important tax provisions that will help farmers hold on in tough times and plan with greater confidence for the future.”
And Duvall believes that should slow down the decline of family farms around the country …
DUVALL … “We lost 15,000 farms in 2024 alone, and modernized programs will help ensure that more farmers are not faced with making the decision to close their doors.”
But this, Duvall says is by no means the end of the road, but for now, it’s a good start …
DUVALL … “We still have much to accomplish when it comes to the long-term certainty our farmers need, but the reconciliation package was a great step, and another example of how strong we are as the Voice of Agriculture.”
