Duvall on MAHA Report

From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson. The much-anticipated Make America Healthy Again Commission report has been getting mixed reactions.

Some like the ideas put forward in the MAHA report while others aren’t as quick to endorse it.

American Farm Bureau Federation President Zippy Duvall says the report was drafted without important farmer perspective …

DUVALL … “It’s very concerning that the Make America Healthy Again report sows doubt about our food system while at the same time celebrating the critical role farmers play in growing the world’s safest food supply.”

The report, Duvall says is hit and miss …

DUVALL … “While the report recognized a mountain of evidence affirming the safety of our food system, outlier studies and unproven theories were included that feed a false narrative about agriculture.”

Science, Duvall says is how we get better …

DUVALL … “To be clear, America’s farmers and ranchers share the goal of improving health outcomes in America. We’re guided by sound science and a dedication to improvement.”

And, Duvall says we’re happy to share …

DUVALL … “Farmers were excluded from the drafting of the MAHA report, but it doesn’t have to be that way going forward. We’re asking President Trump to ensure farmers have a seat at the table.”

Again, that’s Zippy Duvall, President of the American Farm Bureau Federation.
