**In the wake of devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, more than 40 agriculture organizations joined forces to establish a relief fund for farmers whose livelihoods were upended by the storm.

With overwhelming support from hundreds of donors, the fund successfully raised over $1.7 million in just three months, providing vital aid for Georgia producers.

The “Weathered But Strong: Hurricane Relief Fund for Georgia Farmers” will provide direct assistance for agricultural losses.

**Lori Stevermer, president of the National Pork Producers Council, testified before the Senate Ag Committee on the state of the U.S. ag economy.

Stevermer highlighted the top pork industry issue, California’s Prop 12, a state regulation posing an “existential threat” to all of U.S. agriculture.

She says we must fix the problems caused by Prop 12, which has increased farmers’ operating costs, created business uncertainty, and raised pork prices at the grocery store.

**National Farmers Union President Rob Larew reacted after EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin upheld the April 28 implementation date for year-round ethanol sales in the Midwest.

Family farmers and ranchers outside the Midwest also look for federal guidance to build year-long markets for E15 and higher blends.

Larew says NFU is proud to support the Nationwide Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act that was reintroduced in the Senate and the House.
