Florida Extends Hurricane Disaster Aid Deadline
Florida farmers still recovering from the 2023 and 2024 hurricane seasons now have more time to apply for disaster assistance.
The state has extended the deadline for its Block Grant Disaster Relief Program to January 1, 2027. More than $600 million is available to help cover agricultural losses from those storms.
More than 600 producers have already been approved for nearly $100 million.
Funding can help with infrastructure damage, market losses, timber damage and citrus-specific losses.
Applications are being reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis, and the program could close early if funding runs out.
