Ag Outlook and Strategy Forums Happening Around the State

For the next two weeks, there will be informative half day Ag Outlook and Strategy Forums for ag producers to attend around the state. Colorado State University Regional Extension Specialist Brent Young shares more details about the agenda of these events
Young: “We are hosting these in conjunction with Farm Service Agency. Our primary goal is to provide producers first of all with a look at what we think prices are going to do during the next year for agricultural commodities. Then talk a little bit about breakeven analysis for those commodities. Farm Service Agency will talk about some of their loan programs they have that has some special interest with the tight margins that we are going to have in the next few of years. Finally we will end the program with some management strategies. What are some techniques that producers can use to survive the next few years.”
You don’t have to pre-register to attend as Young explains.
Young: “They can just show up — no pre-registration is necessary. Just show up the day of the event. All of these are planned to be begin at 9:30 am and we hope to end promptly at 12:30 so about a three hour program — but a lot of information that we plan on covering within that time.”
If you are interested in learning more or finding dates and locations of these forums, Young says
Young: “Just simply use a search engine like Google and type in csu abm — and the abm stands for Ag Business Management. We have a flyer linked to that website and it has the details as far as the times and locations of all the events.”
