Welcome to Open Range, I’m Susan Allen. Stay tuned because after the break I’ll check in with our field reporter, Greg Martin for the AgriBeef Minute.

I’m Greg Martin with the Open Range AgriBeef Minute. Making sure that your cattle get all the nutrients they need can sometimes be a tricky task taking a lot of extra time out of your day. Tim Bodine, President of Performix Nutrition Systems says their new product is exactly what the doctor ordered.

BODINE: Our BoviBox product is a protein supplement that is a protein meal and self-limited in a cardboard box that can be put out and the cattle can either consume the cardboard box or it will biodegrade so there’s nothing to be picked up. Intakes can be expected to be pound to 2 pounds per head per day and it’s designed to supplement low quality forage.

With diminishing quality of forage the BoviBox is a very convenient way to supplement your cattle’s protein and minerals and it’s safe.

BODINE: The product is nutritional balanced for the Pacific Northwest, strong in the nutrients that are deficient in our region and doesn’t have anything that isn’t needed in this region.

One other aspect of the BoviBox product should make producers smile as well.

BODINE: We manufacture the product in Fruitland, Idaho and deliver it to ranches throughout the Pacific Northwest on our delivery trucks. They just need to contact Performix. It’s manufactured by nutritionists in the northwest and it’s designed for the northwest and it’s one of the reasons we can be cost competitive on it.

I’m Greg Martin and that’s today’s AgriBeef Minute.

Thanks Greg. Don’t forget Greg will be back each Wednesday with the AgriBeef Minute. Agri Beef Co - Real Families, Great People, Exceptional Beef. I’m Susan Allen.
