Please Try Riesling

Please Try Riesling

Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran. Today I want to address our listeners who share my love of Riesling and the frustration with our friends who still turn their noses up when I say I love Riesling. It is true I am a Riesling lover. You know I keep hoping if we just give it some time our friends will come around. They keep saying Riesling is going to come back into fashion very soon, as winemakers and wine writers are all reigniting their interest in Riesling. The planting of Riesling is once again on the rise, and the varying styles of Riesling are showing up on restaurant menus, in specialty retail shops, and even in the grocery store. I mean look at Rose' a couple of years ago, it was considered to be nothing more than white Zinfandel blush. Now it is all the rage and everyone is getting on the band wagon. Just like any wine there are some that are better than others and in the case of Riesling you simply cannot judge all based on your experience with one. Currently I am drinking two Poets Leap and Olsen Estates. Both are fabulous with Thai or Indian food anything spicy, or my fav chicken with mustard sauce. As for our friends and their inability to appreciate Riesling - they probably are not keeping their minds open – after all - as the saying goes "your mind is like a parachute – it only works when it's open". And thanks for joining me on today's Vine to Wine.
