Traveling with Food & Wine Part 4

Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran. You know the vacation season is upon us and this week we are discussing traveling with food & wine in mind. Today even with the awful value of the dollar in Europe folks are still making the trip and loving it. So let’s talk a bit about visiting wine country in Europe.
As I said all week whenever we plan a trip or vacation we head to the internet to gather information. I am often perusing websites looking for interesting places to stay or rent in the European wine country. Now if you really do want to travel to Europe my three favorites in no particular order are Italy, Germany and France with a stop in London either on the way their or back. In fact I recommend you consider the train for most of your trip and fly into London spend a couple days and take the Chunnel to Paris, continuing on from there. One great website for recommendations to less expensive eateries in London is the Food & Wine magazine website just click on the travel tab. In fact it is a great website for most anyplace you plan to travel with food & wine in mind.
For places to stay in Tuscany go to the Villas D’Italia website. I have rented from them many times and have always been pleasantly surprised. Having a house or apartment with a kitchen allows you to eat some meals in and even take advantage of the great local markets for a meal or two. Now I am not a huge fan of Wine Spectator magazine but the website dining and travel tab has so much to offer I have to recommend it. Join me tomorrow as we conclude the week’s discussion of my wine country vacation and travel favorites and thanks for joining me on today’s Vine to Wine.
