09/13/07 Looking at the Weather

Looking at the Weather. I'm Greg Martin with today's Fruit Grower Report. I was sitting here looking at the calendar and realized that autumn is only a couple of weeks away. Yikes, where did the summer go? Already, we are seeing some overnight temperatures reaching down into the 40's where I live but the last week or so has been absolutely beautiful weather-wise. So as we head for fall it's time to check with our good friend meteorologist Tim Creek. CREEK: Weather conditions over the next week are still looking to be very pleasant over much of the northwest. There is going to be a minor weather disturbance that pushes into the area primarily late Sunday night into Monday and Tuesday and what that's going to do is to being some cooler air into the region and maybe give us a minor threat of isolated showers most likely on Monday. But the bottom line is that as we head into the first of the autumn season is that we're still under a relatively quiet weather pattern. The one difference is that our warm days are not nearly as hot as they have been temperatures in the upper 80's. So we are seeing the seasonal changes but the overall weather pattern is quiet. The rest of the week very pleasant weather conditions, very minor day to day changes and again, Saturday and Sunday will be very pleasant with just some minor cooling before we see our threat of spotty showers and again it's a very minor threat of spotty showers on Monday followed by temperatures more likely into the I would say mid-70's on Tuesday and Wednesday and warming back into the lower 80's after that. So the bottom line, a pretty quiet weather pattern, very pleasant weather conditions, good harvest and again, just a very minor threat of an isolated shower or two early next week. Thanks Tim. That's today's Fruit Grower Report. I'm Greg Martin on the Northwest Ag Information Network.
