Animal Ag Alliance and Activists
From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson. “Animal Rights” activists are behind the push to REMOVE domestic livestock, poultry, and other animal-based products from your table.Emily Ellis, Director of Communications at the Animal Ag Alliance, says many animal rights groups push for legislation and regulations to reach that goal …
ELLIS … “Animal rights activists are always looking for new ways to target animal agriculture. They’re always looking for new levers that they can manipulate to make progress in their ultimate goal, which is to eliminate animal agriculture and take meat products off of the table, off grocery store shelves.”
Ellis says if you’ve been targeted by activists and are interested in sharing your story, don’t be shy, people need to hear it …
ELLIS … “We do have an Animal Ag Allies program which is geared to help farmers, ranchers, people with boots on the ground feel more empowered to share their personal stories.”
Which, Ellis says can be a little daunting …
ELLIS … “You don’t know what every conversation’s going to look like. You don’t know what questions they’re going to ask. So, we really try to provide those tools to keep in your back pocket so you can feel confident in those conversations. Our Animal Ag Allies program is on our website, www.animalagalliance.org.”
Again, that’s www.animalagalliance.org to learn more about the Animal Agriculture Alliance.
