Georgia National Fair and NCBA on Trump's Beef Imports

**The 36th annual Georgia National Fair welcomed over 612,000 visitors, celebrating Georgia’s best in agriculture, family fun and community tradition.
www.gfb.org reports signature events included the Fair Food Fight, the Youth Livestock Shows, multiple exhibits showcasing Georgia’s peanut, timber and cotton sectors, and a Georgia Grown market highlighting locally made products and producers.
This year’s theme, “Fairadise and America 250,” offered fairgoers a perfect blend of tropical fun and patriotic pride.

**The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association says the President’s plan to increase beef imports from Argentina in an attempt to lower beef prices is misguided.
NCBA CEO Colin Woodall says efforts to manipulate markets only risk damaging the livelihoods of American producers while doing little to impact what consumers pay.
He says the U.S. already faces a deep trade imbalance with Argentina, that will only be made worse by the President’s plan.
**The Senate once again pushed back against tariffs put in place by President Trump, voting against the 50% tariff on Brazilian beef imports.
Senators voted 52-48 to end the national emergency declared by Trump, with five Republicans joining Democrats in approving the move.
Politico says it’s the first in a series of three resolutions intended to stop the president’s tariffs on Brazil and Canada, as well as other countries.
