Ag Secretary Visits Atlanta and FFA on National Ag Day
From the Ag Information Network, this is your Agribusiness Update.**Ag Secretary Brooke Rollins traveled to Atlanta to deliver remarks to the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.
Secretary Rollins and Georgia Ag Commissioner Tyler Harper met with elected officials at the Georgia State Capitol, participated in a roundtable discussion with farmers, and toured a local cattle operation.
Rollins says the insight of Georgia’s farmers, ranchers, and rural communities are essential as we work to strengthen the industry for future generations.
**Tomorrow, FFA student members, advisors, and leaders across the country will be celebrating the importance of agriculture with elected officials and their communities as part of National Ag Day.
National Ag Day is celebrated on March 18th this year with the theme “Together, We Grow.”
The celebration highlights the industry that feeds, fuels, clothes, and sustains a growing world and the critical role agriculture plays in our culture and economy.
**National Farmers Union concluded its 123rd Anniversary Convention in Oklahoma City after voting to finalize NFU’s 2025 policy priorities.
NFU President Rob Larew says rising costs, corporate consolidation, and uncertainty around federal programs, including the lack of a renewed farm bill, are creating real hardships.
The priorities approved by NFU delegates include three special orders: Fairness for Farmers, Family Farming and the Farm Bill, and Family Farming and our Federal Government.
