**Farmers are looking for ways to add more mechanization to address labor shortages, reduce costs and improve efficiency.

Tim Chiala, COO at George Chiala Farms, in Morgan Hill, California, has invested in more technology at his family-run farming and food-processing company.

They are testing an automatic and robotic equipment to help with jalapeños and onions.

Chiala says the labor supply fluctuating like crazy, so hopefully adding robotics will give us some stability.

**Tomorrow, FFA student members, advisors, and leaders across the country will be celebrating the importance of agriculture with elected officials and their communities as part of National Ag Day.

National Ag Day is celebrated on March 18th this year with the theme “Together, We Grow.”

The celebration highlights the industry that feeds, fuels, clothes, and sustains a growing world and the critical role agriculture plays in our culture and economy.

**National Farmers Union concluded its 123rd Anniversary Convention in Oklahoma City after voting to finalize NFU’s 2025 policy priorities.

NFU President Rob Larew says rising costs, corporate consolidation, and uncertainty around federal programs, including the lack of a renewed farm bill, are creating real hardships.

The priorities approved by NFU delegates include three special orders: Fairness for Farmers, Family Farming and the Farm Bill, and Family Farming and our Federal Government.
