**The World Food Prize Foundation says former Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack will serve as their new CEO beginning March 1st.

The Foundation says Vilsack will leverage his extensive leadership and diplomatic experience to enhance the Foundation’s global impact in food security and sustainable agriculture.

In his new role, Vilsack will focus on expanding the Foundation’s global network and will further position the Foundation as a leader in addressing global food insecurity.

**South Korea’s President, who was arrested and indicted after briefly imposing martial law in December, now faces an impeachment trial.

The U.S. Meat Export Federation says while the political turmoil has weakened Korea’s currency, it’s NOT affecting demand for U.S. red meat.

South Korea is the leading value market for U.S. beef exports, with shipments through November over $2 billion, up 5% from a year earlier.

U.S. pork exports to Korea climbed 21%.

**Egg Production in the United States totaled 9.12 billion in December, down 3% from 2023.

Production included 7.83 billion table eggs and 1.29 billion hatching eggs.

The total number of layers in December averaged 373 million, down 3%.

December egg production per 100 layers was 2,448 eggs, 1% lower than December 2023.

All layers on January 1st totaled 369 million, down 2% from last year.
