From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson. The 2025 Potato Expo just wrapped up in Orland, Florida with a near record number of 2,170 industry folks in attendance.

National Potato Council CEO, Kam Quarles says they’re already making plans for next year’s Potato Expo in Texas …

QUARLES … “We will be in Dallas, technically Grapevine, Texas at the Gaylord Texan, really excited about that, January 6th through the 8th. So, that should be another tremendous event. We’re really looking forward to it.”

And next year’s meeting, Quarles says will again have much to talk about …

QUARLES … “The thing I’m absolutely sure of Bob, is that there is going to be a tremendous amount of focus on Washington D.C. and on the things that our industry pays the National Potato Council to monitor and hopefully, positively effect for them. There’s going to be, Washington D.C. is going to be a very chaotic place over the next year or so.”

And getting a new Farm Bill, Quarles says won’t be the only topic …

QUARLES … “The threat of over regulation, getting taxes wrong, having trade deals that don’t work. Those can have a huge impact on, on, certainly on the potato industry

and I think U.S. agriculture broadly.”

Quarles says 2025 looks and to a very interesting year for agriculture, and certainly won’t be boring.
