WCSETF Website Pt 2
From the Ag Information Network, this is today’s Fruit Grower Report. The West Coast Smoke Exposure Task Force’s new website is intended to give those in the wine industry all the latest research about winegrapes and wildfire smoke.Washington Wine Industry Foundation counsel, Vicky Scharlau says it’s easy to find and to use …
SCHARLAU … “When you hit on the website, and all you have to do is look for the acronym. It’s West Coast Smoke Exposure Task Force (WCSETF), right, so it’s just the acronym. And then when you hit on the home page, it literally has “home”, “about”, the “industry resources”, events and news. You can’t get more basic.”
And Scharlau says the reason you’re there …
SCHARLAU … “Then, of course, we’ve got a link to research, the USDA-ARS research and what they’re doing, the vineyards risk management research, sensory research, and then winery mitigation research.”
But wait, Scharlau says there’s more …
SCHARLAU … “The events are both past and current and upcoming. So, we annually for the past, I think, three or four years have had a Smoke Summit and that information from the Smoke Summits, which are updates on research and, you know, contracts and crop insurance, are all recorded and that’s in there.”
And more, Scharlau says as needed …
SCHARLAU … “So, it’s a one-stop-shopping we hope for smoke, exposure and preparedness.”
