California Women for Agriculture is one of the state’s largest non-profit organizations supporting and advocating for the agriculture industry. But it’s not just farmers talking to each other, says President Rose Tryon.

Tryon… “That is what is so incredibly awesome about our organization. We have members that are consumers, teachers, bankers, producers, and really it's that diversity in our organization that makes us as strong as we are.”

Strong indeed, with over 1,300 members and 23 chapters throughout the state. Members gather for meetings about every other month. Tryon credits her team with the success of the organization, but her leadership dates back to her agricultural roots.

Tryon… “I watched my family struggle to keep their family farm for years. And the thought was always: this shouldn't be this difficult. A profession that's this honorable as agriculture should not be so difficult on the people who are involved in it. So growing up, I think I was always looking for an organization that was supporting agriculture and is trying to help sustain a viable agricultural industry. I found California Woman for Agriculture, and it was just the perfect fit for me. “

The organization is holding a statewide meeting in Sacramento May 4th - 5th. Visit their website at http://cawomen4ag.com/.
