Announcing Two CAWG Scholarships for Colorado High School Seniors

The Colorado Association of Wheat Growers (CAWG) will award two $1,000 scholarships to Colorado high school seniors and the applications are now available. CAWG Communications and External Relations Director Aimee Kanode gives more details on scholarship eligibility.
Kanode: “They are both $1,000 scholarships. They go to a graduating senior who plans to go to college immediately in the fall. The only other requirement for them is that their parents must be Colorado Association Wheat Growers members or they are nominated by one of the CAWG sponsors. A farmer as a sponsor — they can nominate that student for the scholarships.”
She continues with the deadline and where to find the application.
Kanode: “As long as it is postmarked by March 18th. The application can be found on our website. So they go to coloradowheat.org and then there is a Colorado Association of Wheat Growers tab. Then under that, it will be under the membership pulldown menu.”
Kanode explains that although one of the two scholarships is sponsored by CAWG the other is a memorial scholarship that anyone can donate to.
Kanode: “So if anybody is interested in helping young students gain their education and honor people who have been great agriculturalists and have devoted time to the colorado wheat industry — we are always accepting donations to further that scholarship.”
