Washington Ag TV Program Wins Telly Award
The goal of this award-winning program, Washington Grown, is to connect the food we eat with the farmers who grow it while educating consumers about how diverse and important food is to Washington’s economy and culture.
In partnership with film production company North By Northwest — Washington Farmers and Ranchers have been behind this effort. But Washington Potato Commission Director of Marketing and Industry Affairs Ryan Holterhoff says this is only the beginning of the coalition’s efforts to education consumers about the state’s ag industry.
Holterhoff: “We’re always looking for involving all of ag. This isn’t meant to be a potato, wheat and friends of farms and forests initiative alone. We are hoping that all of ag will get behind it. We continue to work on those efforts to get all of our friendly farmers and ranchers and different commodity commissions around the table talking about how we can continue to grow the program. The tv show has been a great start. It has given us some wonderful content for the website and wonderful clips and different segments that we can share with consumers around Washington State but really we know it can and will be more than just a tv show.”
Each episode and many video clips are also available on the Washington Grown website www.wagrown.com
