Kestrel's Olsen Corral Vineyard Cabernet Franc

Kestrel's Olsen Corral Vineyard Cabernet Franc

Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran and as many of you know my new favorite wine is usually the wine that is in my glass at the time. Recently I had an exquisite Cabernet France an on today's program I want to tell you all about it. Last week I discovered a Cabernet Franc that was new to me, and I purchased a bottle to try it out. It was from Kestrel Vintners in Prosser Washington and it is a Cab Franc from the Winemaker Select Series, which honors among other things, unique grapes and winemaking techniques. Well Kestrel winemaker Flint Nelson has knocked it out of the park with this wine. It is 100% Cab Franc from the Olsen's Estate Corral Vineyard and it is stellar. Deep rich color and a depth of fruit flavors that seem never ending are accompanied by oh so pleasant spice and deep earth, while flowing through some of the most even and well integrated tannins it is one of the best examples of this grape I have ever experienced. Only 250 cases were made so do not hesitate. If you miss out don't say I didn't warn you. I know I will be going back for more. Remember to send your wine questions to Linda at vine to wine dot net and thanks for joining me on today's Vine to Wine.
