Savor the Flavor
Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran and today is food and wine pairing day but let’s talk food and stress. A month ago I was asked to participate as an amateur chef at our local Savor the Flavor event. At first I was thrilled, but now I am sooo stressed out!
Although normally so relaxed and uninhibited in the kitchen – I am freaking out trying to create a recipe as an amateur chef for the upcoming Savor the Flavor event in the Tri-Cities. I am finding myself stymied by the whole idea of this 45 minute stress test. I realized last night while once more attempting to perfect my recipe that I am not relaxed about this. I don’t want to be judged by professional chefs. I’m not that brave. I love to cook and I love to search out just the right wine to go with my dish. But it’s supposed to be fun. I have been unsuccessful in creating a fabulous recipe from any of my beans – I mean some of them taste good but they don’t look very good – there is the rub – the presentation. I have 45 minutes to create the dish and plate it for the judges. Then I have to clean up and be off the stage in the remaining 15 minutes. Although I have no problem making dinner in half an hour this somehow sounds anxiety inducing. Oh well - come on out to Savor the Flavor at the
And thanks for joining me on today’s Vine to Wine.
