Rose' Recommendations

Rose' Recommendations

Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran. On the program today we are looking at recommendations of Rose’ wines for the summer.

Well as I said Monday, summer has taken its time getting here and now that the Memorial Day weekend is in the rearview mirror we are off to summer. Refreshing is the word I want to come to mind when I am enjoying a wine in the summer. I also want a wine that will hold up to the foods we serve from the grill which in the summer is just about everything we cook from veggies to fish meat and poultry. For several years now we have seen a renaissance in Rose’ wines, and they are high on my list of summer favorites. I think Rose’ made from Sangiovese is one of my favorites. I would recommend Barnard Griffin Rose from Sangiovese, they are out of Richland Washington. From down under, I enjoy Yalumba Rose’ made from Sangiovese. For a truly pretty glass of Rose made from Sangiovese try Waterbrook’s although the winery is in Walla Walla the fruit hales from Candy Mountain in the Columbia Valley.  Summer is a great time to enjoy chilled shellfish and I highly recommend you look for a Rose’ to accompany it.  But don’t get me wrong, these wines are serious and will also be great with a flank steak or a burger. Oh and I like a grilled piece of salmon with a chilled Rose’ just about anytime.  I would love to hear about your favorite summer wines email me at Linda at vine to wine dot net and thanks for joining me on today’s Vine to Wine.
