New Fav Patricia Green Pinot Noir

New Fav Patricia Green Pinot Noir

Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran. As many of you know my new favorite wine is usually the wine that is in my glass at the time. On a recent trip to Portland I had a glass of Pinot Noir, which I enjoyed immensely, and have since then pursued to share with friends.

While dining at Meriwhether’s restaurant in Portland I took a look at the wine list, and as is often my habit, I decided to try something I’d never tasted. It was a Pinot Noir (after all I was in Oregon) it was from Patricia Green Cellars, a winery located in the Ribbon Ridge district of Yamhill County.  Patricia Green is a veteran winemaker in Oregon and has a long history of making wines in the state. Her namesake winery produces many single vineyard wines at reasonable prices I might add. The wine I experienced while dining in Portland was the Patricia Green 2007 Reserve Pinot Noir. It was very well balance with deep serious fruit, it was absolutely silky and the acidity made it quite food friendly.  Her wines are interesting as she observes and respects each vineyard site and elaborates the distinct characteristics of the site during the winemaking process. The style of her wines are determined by the fruit not her predetermined recipe. I recommend you try these wines.  In the meantime, send your wine questions to Linda at vine to wine dot net and thank you for joining me on today’s Vine to Wine.
