Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran. You know the vacation season is upon us and yesterday we began discussing our summer reading lists with wine and food in mind. Whenever we plan a trip or summer vacation I think many of us give some thought to what reading we will take with us. I like magazines and periodicals a great deal because they are easy to pass along to others when I am finished reading them and then I have room for other new treasures in my bags on the journey home. I mention it often and I will again today Food & Wine magazine is a favorite for me and I never cease to find something new and interesting in every issue. Another favorite is Saveur magazine with fabulous articles and luscious photography - so pick one up at the newsstand or the airport for great plane, beach or relaxing afternoon reading. I also like regional magazines such as Wine Press Northwest and Northwest Palate in my neck of the woods. Both have interesting articles about the wine industry and the people in it, as well as reviews of current releases, most of which are usually still available. If you find yourself in Canada go to one of the state liquor stores, they produce a very interesting and good quality publication and the recipes are pretty enjoyable as well. Wherever your travels take you whether out of town or just into your backyard hammock consider magazines as a part of your summer reading program and thanks for joining me on today's Vine to Wine.
