Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran and believe it or not, now is a great time to visit wine country. It may be cold out and the vineyards are fast asleep but it doesn't mean that the wineries are in hibernation  far from it. In fact the winemaking process is in full swing with fermentation from the past harvest completing and aging beginning - there is in fact lots going on. Wine Country happens to be very good at celebrating the holidays with many special events and of course lots of wines to taste! Often wineries will pair up with restaurants in the area putting together special dinners and celebrations. I recommend that you visit the websites connected with the wine region you have interest in visiting to see just what is happening and when. Here in the state of Washington try the googling Washington Wine Country or Walla Walla Wine news or visit the Wine Yakima Valley website. Some even have information and links about places to stay and eat on your visit to wine country. Plus what a great way to get together with a group of friends  rent a limo and tour wine country in comfort and style. You will probably be able to get quite a bit of your grown up gift shopping done as well. So join the festivities and consider visiting wine country during the holidays!
