Pear Meeting. I'm Greg Martin with today's Fruit Grower Report.
It's important as an Ag producer to be informed and coming up this next week, pear producers can get the latest information courtesy of the Washington Growers Clearing House. Dan Kelly with the Clearing House says it's open to everyone.
KELLY: A lot of the growers have not got direct contact with some of the organizations like the Washington Oregon Canning Pear Association and the Northwest Pear Bureau and they're giving presentations so they can kind of get a brief overview of what happened in the past season and some of the things to look forward to in the current season.
He says it's a good time to get your questions answered.
KELLY: And then there's always some good information about the latest things, issues related to the current harvest that will be up and coming following the meeting. If they have questions, they can ask questions of the people that are there doing the presentations about the issues that are being discussed.
It's also a time for producers to get a first look at some good information from last year.
KELLY: The Growers Clearing House puts together an annual pear summary report and that will be the first place they can receive an actual hard copy of that of the prior season.
The meeting is free and will be held this coming Wednesday night from 7-9pm at the Cashmere High School.
