SNAP households are able to purchase nutritious dairy products, including all types of milk. That's whole milk, 2% milk, not just the non-fat milk and low-fat milk. That's eligible under healthy fluid milk incentives. They can also purchase cheese, cultured products like yogurt, sour cream, and they're able to purchase these nutritious dairy products for a discounted price point,”
Which will help to stretch the SNAP dollar for SNAP participants.
“DNIP will help SNAP households be able to purchase nutritious, nutrient-dense dairy foods that maybe were a little bit out of their budget in the past, but now because of this discount that's provided through DNIP, they can have greater access to these dairy products stretch that SNAP dollar a little further, and we actually think it's a really great way to approach the health and maha issues that we're hearing a lot about now, and incentivizing healthy purchases, incentivizing people to move towards nutrient dense dairy products.”
