Glyphosate and Bread Products and Farm Bridge Assistance on Schedule
From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson with your Agribusiness Update.**In response to the announcement by Healthy Florida First regarding glyphosate and bread products, the National Association of Wheat Growers responded saying we appreciate their stated purpose of improving the lives of Floridians.
Unfortunately, their recent announcement needlessly scares consumers about trace levels of glyphosate that don't present genuine risks.
Glyphosate is regulated and continuously reviewed by the EPA to ensure levels are safe for all consumers.
**USDA officials say they remain on schedule to meet the late-February rollout for the Farm Bridge Assistance program.
Payments are expected to begin flowing and new digital tools are being introduced to streamline the process for producers.
Undersecretary for Farm Production, Richard Fordyce says USDA plans to administer the program through www.login.gov, a federal portal already used by government agencies, allowing producers to access, review, and sign required FBA forms online.
**A coalition of leading ag organizations sent a letter to the EPA, urging the agency to uphold its rigorous, science-based pesticide registration process and ensure timely reviews.
The letter expressed support for the Make America Healthy Again movement and the commission’s Make Our Children Healthy Again Strategy.
They highlighted that science-based pesticide approvals are critical for food security and affordability, but also the long-term sustainability of U.S. agriculture.
