Conservation Reserve Program and Farm Bridge Assistance on Schedule
From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson with your Agribusiness Update.**The USDA announced the enrollment periods for agricultural producers to submit offers for the Continuous and General Conservation Reserve Program.
USDA’s Farm Service Agency is accepting offers for Continuous CRP through March 20th. General CRP will run from March 9, through April 17.
CRP is USDA’s flagship conservation program, providing financial and technical support to ag producers who place marginal cropland under contract for 10-15 years, converting the land to beneficial vegetative cover.
**USDA officials say they remain on schedule to meet the late-February rollout for the Farm Bridge Assistance program.
Payments are expected to begin flowing and new digital tools are being introduced to streamline the process for producers.
Undersecretary for Farm Production, Richard Fordyce says USDA plans to administer the program through www.login.gov, a federal portal already used by government agencies, allowing producers to access, review, and sign required FBA forms online.
**A coalition of leading ag organizations sent a letter to the EPA, urging the agency to uphold its rigorous, science-based pesticide registration process and ensure timely reviews.
The letter expressed support for the Make America Healthy Again movement and the commission’s Make Our Children Healthy Again Strategy.
They highlighted that science-based pesticide approvals are critical for food security and affordability, but also the long-term sustainability of U.S. agriculture.
