Hurricane Helene Challenges and Ag Trade Deficit Widens
From the Ag Information Network, this is your Agribusiness Update.**A new report by the Georgia Foundation for Agriculture reveals the immense challenges Georgia farmers faced in the first 72 hours following Hurricane Helene.

99% of farmers surveyed lost power, 93% lost internet and cellphone coverage, and 71% lost access to water.

**Bloomberg's Gerson Freitas Jr reports "the US agricultural trade deficit widened further in July, highlighting the challenge facing President Trump as he vows to reverse the trend."
Freitas tells www.agrimarketing.com ag exports lagged imports by $4.97 billion in July, 9% greater than a year earlier and the largest on record for July.
Freitas says that pushed the sector's deficit to an unprecedented $33.6 billion for the first seven months of the year.
