**Farmers are selling land, equipment and other assets to raise the cash needed to grow their crops this year as a struggling farm economy affects lending activity.

Many farmers take out yearly operating loans to pay for labor, fertilizer, other costs, and then pay back the loans after harvest.

But, farmer and former California state lawmaker, Bill Berryhill says after years of rising production costs and low crop prices, those loans, just dried up.

**President Trump’s Make America Healthy Again Commission released its report Thursday, blaming several factors for chronic illnesses, especially in children.

A big concern for U.S. agriculture was pesticides.

The report says American farmers rely on these products, and actions to further regulate or restrict crop protection tools must involve thoughtful consideration of what’s necessary.

It adds, understanding links between chemical exposure and chronic illness cannot happen through a European regulatory system.

**During the next several weeks, the National Ag Statistics Service will conduct the June Agricultural Survey.

The agency will contact 92,000 producers across the nation to determine crop acreage and stock levels as of June 1st.

NASS Administrator Joseph Parsons says producer responses provide essential information used by farmers and ranchers, USDA, exporters, researchers, economists, policymakers, and others to inform a wide range of decisions.

NASS will publish the data June 30.
