From the Ag Information Network, this is your Agribusiness Update.

**Bird flu is forcing farmers to slaughter millions of chickens a month, pushing U.S. egg prices to more than double their cost in the summer of 2023.

And with Easter approaching, there may be no relief in sight.

The national average price per dozen hit $4.15 in December, shy of the $4.82 record set two years ago, but the USDA predicts prices are going to soar another 20% this year.

**A bipartisan group of senators have introduced the AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act.

The legislation would require automakers to keep AM radio in ALL new passenger vehicles, including electric at no additional charge.

The bill gives small vehicle manufacturers four years to comply after the AM Radio Act goes into effect.

Before the rules take effect, automakers would be required to inform consumers that the vehicles do not have AM radio.

**Lee Zeldin was sworn in as the new administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.

Zeldin says he’s honored to be the 17th EPA administrator, adding they’ll take great strides to defend every American’s access to clean air, water, and land.

U.S. ag groups reacted positively and noted they’re ready to work with Zeldin.

National Cattlemen’s VP Ethan Lane says for far too long, the EPA has stood for ‘Ending Production Agriculture’.
