National Peanut Board Funds Allergy Research and Newsom Urges E15 Approval
From the Ag Information Network, this is your Agribusiness Update.**The National Peanut Board has awarded $400,000 in grants to nine organizations to advance food allergy research towards the eradication of peanut allergies.

Since 2001, the National Peanut Board has invested more than
$36 million in food allergy outreach, education and research.

**The Renewable Fuels Association applauded California Governor Gavin Newsom for directing the state’s Air Resources Board to expedite approval of E15 in the state.
California is currently the only state that doesn’t allow the sale of lower-cost, low-carbon E15.
In a letter to the California Air Resources Board, Newsome cited a recent study that showed E15 could result in a twenty cents per gallon price decrease for fuel, saving California families up to $2.7 billion per year.
**Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack says the form of the H5N1 virus found in an Oregon pig differs from the viruses found in dairy cattle and poultry.
USDA communications chief Cathy Cochran tells Agri-Pulse the strain found in the Oregon pig "is not the strain that’s
been found in dairy cattle and other poultry facilities."
She says the virus is consistent with other strains associated with wild birds.
