From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson with today’s Fruit Grower Report. We talked last month about WineVit 2023, the Washington wine industry get-together folks are preparing for next February 6th – 9th in Kennewick.

Sarah Higgins, Assistant Director of the Washington Wine Growers Association, says this event is where you’ll want to be …

HIGGINS … “This is intra-industry. This is about industry growers, industry winemakers, affiliated in any way in the wine industry. This is the place for all those folks, this is the place to be for all the service and supply providers.”

Higgins says one of the cool things they want to draw attentions to …

HIGGINS … “We have a number of different educational sessions and in past years we’ve had what we’ve referred to as a Poster Session, which is an opportunity where researchers and undergrad and graduate researchers can share what they’ve been working on, what their projects are, with the industry and help the industry understand what best practices might be up and coming and around the corner.”

But this, Higgins says called for a little make over …

HIGGINS … “The Poster Session has always sounded and kind of been a little weird. I mean, Poster Session sounds like a school science fair. So, we’ve rebranded and renamed it and giving it a little bit more spotlight if you will. We’re talking about it as the Industry Research Snapshot.”

Tune in tomorrow for more on WineVit 2023 and why it’s a great opportunity to reconnect with others in the wine industry.
