WSTFA Annual Meeting and Cherry Institute
From the Western Ag Network, I’m Bob Larson. If you haven’t made your plans yet, the Washington State Tree Fruit Association’s Annual Meeting and Hort Show is fast approaching, December 7-9 in Kennewick. And this year, according to the WSTFA Annual Meeting Chairman, Shawn Gay, there will be one big noticeable change …
GAY … “Something new this year is that we have the Cherry Institute joining us on Wednesday. They will have their entire day that they normally would have in January, but it will be on Wednesday the 9th, and we’re excited about adding that as well.”
And that, Gay says means a little longer show …
GAY … “So, a little change for the show. Usually Wednesday’s are half days. This year that will be a full day and the Cherry Institute will be bringing their, the same program they would bring in January. They start in the morning. They have a lunch that will still go on, and a guest speaker, and then go through the afternoon.”
All in the name of, Gay says convenience …
GAY … “The idea is to try and bring one show together for the industry to help on efficiencies for the growers, the participants and extend out what we have available.”
But also, Gay says for the Hort Show …
GAY … “Yes, and the trade show, we’re excited as well this year because in the past the vendors would be at our Hort Show, but also the Cherry Institute. By combining the two, we should be able to grab more vendors and it’s more efficient for them as well.”
