Beef Cookbook
There are thousands and thousands of books looking for readers and users. I'm Jeff Keane, and I have enough time to tell you about one right after this.
Out of all the books on the bookstore shelves waiting to be picked up and taken home, I'm hoping one gets bought its share of the time. The book is "the healthy beef cookbook." This cookbook was a Beef Checkoff project started about three years ago. The American Dietetic Association and the National Cattlemen's Beef Association persuaded dietitian Betsy Hornick and chef Richard Chamberlain to co-author the new cookbook. The theme of this book is that America's beef is healthy when eaten regularly in the diet. It explains how to choose lean beef cuts and the authors developed recipes using no more than ten ingredients that can be prepared mostly within thirty minutes. I've always told people that beef can be used as a convenience food. The cookbook was first presented at the American Dietetic Association's convention last October in St. Louis, Missouri. The reviews from these nutritionists were very positive. Chef Chamberlain has promoted the book to everyone from producers to the media. The cookbook was available at our state cattlemen's convention last November and my wife bought two. You know, they make great presents for city friends and relativesit reminds them to keep eating healthy and take care of themselves. I'm Jeff Keane.
