Online Marketing for Washington Raspberries

From the Western Ag Network, I’m Bob Larson with today’s Fruit Grower Report. Advertising in newspapers, and on radio and TV is fine, but in this day and age there are other options that provide good opportunities to sell your products, like Washington Frozen Raspberries.

Gavin Willis, Executive Director for the Washington Red Raspberry Commission, says online marketing has become a regular target for their marketing dollars …

WILLIS … “Yeah, it seems to be. We’re getting good numbers back, as far as the reach we’re able to get. I think that’s kind of one of the things that makes social media attractive from a marketing perspective is you’re CPM (Content Marketing Platform), the amount of people you’re able to reach for every dollar you spend is pretty high.”

It’s not an exact science, Willis says, but it seems to be effective …

WILLIS … “It’s always tough to measure actual impacts to sales on that because there’s not necessarily a one-to-one correlation there, but I think our intent is, hey, we want to reach as many people as we can with the message that Washington-grown frozen raspberries are a great year-round option for fruit.”

And a lot of people, Willis says are on social media …

WILLIS … “I think social media kind of provides a good channel for us to share that messaging, and the folks who are making grocery shopping decisions for their families, the parents thinking about what they want to feed their kids. And I’ve heard from plenty of folks that kids love berries. You hear parents with young kids talk about the berry budget.”

Again, that is Gavin Willis, Executive Director for the Washington Red Raspberry Commission.
