From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson with today’s Fruit Grower Report. As summertime winds down, the Washington State Tree Fruit Association’s Annual Golf Tournament is fully booked and ready to roll next week.

WSTFA Communications and Events Director, Tim Kovis says the tournament is almost here, and every foursome is filled for another successful outing …

KOVIS … “So, we’ll hold our 29th annual golf tournament up in East Wenatchee at the Highlander Golf Tournament on Tuesday.”

Highlander Golf Course is just east of town on 8th Street SW.

Funds raised during the tournament, Kovis says are for the future of the industry …

KOVIS … “This golf tournament raises money to support some scholarships at WAEF and some other groups that are in the names of tree fruit leaders.”

And as always, Kovis says with all the slots filled, they’re expecting another great tournament for players and sponsors again this year …

KOVIS … “Yeah, you know, we have our traditional sponsors and teams that play, but we’re always excited when we have new folks that want to get involved through sponsorships and having a presence at the tournament. So it’s always a fun group and some new faces every year along with old friends that have been supporting us many, many years.”

Tickets for the tournament BBQ are still available and donations can be made, both at the WSTFA website at www.wstfa.org

Tune in tomorrow for more on the Washington State Tree Fruit Association’s 29th Annual Golf Tournament at Highlander Golf Course in East Wenatchee.
